The Widows and Orphans Rights and Development Program (WORD) strengthens the voice of widows and orphans and improves their access to justice and to clear, usable legal information.
What we are doing
- Strengthening the voices of poor and marginalized community members, particularly widows and orphans, to enable them to access justice and realize their rights.
- Identifying and training SWISS members as paralegals to enhance their knowledge and capacity to advocate for the rights of widows and orphans.
- Developing an abridged version of the Estate Administration Act and simplified guides on court processes and procedures to improve access to legal information and services.
