The Widows Socioeconomic Empowerment Program (WISEEP) improves the social and economic well-being of widows by strengthening their skills, livelihoods, networks, and participation in community development, empowering them to build sustainable income and contribute to social and economic transformation.
What we are doing
- Mapping widows and widow groups in Embakasi West Sub-County to better understand their needs and strengthen support systems.
- Delivering training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and access to appropriate inputs, technologies and services, while facilitating linkages with financial institutions.
- Equipping widows with practical skills in agribusiness, embroidery, beadwork, modern basketry and business value chain development.
- Supporting the growth of cottage businesses into sustainable social enterprises.
- Expanding networking opportunities to connect widows with markets, partners and support networks.
- Harnessing collective strengths to increase widows participation in public and community affairs.
- Mobilizing human, economic, and social resources to support program activities and enhance community impact.
